In its declaration, the alliance stated that it would continue to rely on such tested approaches as cash transfers, developing homegrown school feeding programs, improving access to microfinance, and others in the fight against hunger and poverty.

In this regard, with respect to the war in Ukraine, the G20 declaration citing New Delhi meeting underlined the “human cost and adverse spillovers of the war in relation to

G20 President of Brazil, Luiz Inacia Lula da Silva launched a global alliance of 20 country against Hunger & Poverty.
However, Lula added that they were unfortunately at the stage of expressing grief over hunger and poverty; therefore, leaders needed to take responsibility so that they could succeed quickly.
Welcoming the Brazilian initiative towards establishing a Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, Prime Minister Modi stressed that the Global South was severely affected by food, fuel, and fertilizer crises created by the current conflicts and therefore their concerns ought to be given primacy.
